**An add on to Friday's message...

During Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, we invite families to place a colourful push pin on our world map located in our Learning Commons to show where their family comes from. Together, we’ll create a vibrant picture celebrating the diverse backgrounds that make up our school community!

 March 13th, 2026

We will be building Leprechaun traps on Monday.

Don't forget to wear green on Tuesday, March 17th!

Thank you for bringing in a baggie of "100 things"

Just a reminder that Parent - Teacher conferences are on Thursday, March 19th and Friday March 20th. *there is NO SCHOOL for your child on Friday, March 20th. I hope you all have a relaxing Spring Break and school resumes on Monday, March 30th.

We had a visit today from Paige's mom (in Mrs. Larmer's class) who is a vet tech and she showed us a bunch of X-Rays of a dog.

On Monday we will have a fire fighter come in and give a presentation and we'll have a chance to try on some of her equipment.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

 March 9th,

Sorry for the late blog...

It's our 100th day of school on Thursday! Please remember to bring in a sandwich bag of 100 of something (popsicle sticks, toothpicks, paperclips, beads, macaroni, etc)

Also, we will begin to build our Leprechaun traps on Monday, March 16th so please make sure your child has a shoebox by then. Please do not help your child with their box at home beforehand. We will be doing all the work at school.

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes in their backpack as there is a lot of snow outside which will turn to mud and puddles soon.

Looking forward to seeing you at conferences.

 Week of February 23-27th

We are at the end of February already! March is going to be busy with St. Patrick's day coming up and Spring Break from March 23rd - 27th.

Mrs. Larmer and I are planning a community walk at some point next week (weather dependent) to look at some local landmarks around McKenzie Towne.

Just a reminder that it will be our 100th day of school on March 12th! I will be asking for each child to bring in a sandwich sized Ziploc bag of 100 of something (cereal, beads, paperclips, etc) for us to display on our 100 day wall!

We will also be constructing Leprechaun Traps so please have your child bring ONE shoebox or small Amazon box to build with. We may need some additional supplies however I'll let you know next week. Please have your child start bringing in their box on Monday, March 2nd.

Parent Teacher conferences are coming up on Thursday March 19th and Friday morning March 20th. You will be getting an email soon to book a time.

Also, Mr. V has started the gymnastics unit in gym. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for this unit with socks on please :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Week of February 2nd to 6th

We made it through all 935 days of January!! (ha ha)

We have 23 kids in our class in total for valentine's purposes...please DO NOT label them with individual student's names. Please label them with "To my friend" or just leave it blank and have your child sign their name as to who it is from. This makes it MUCH easier for handing out valentines :)

Sadly our eagles had some bad luck and their eggs weren't viable. We are hoping that she lays a new clutch.

It's getting lighter outside and warmer...which means MUD... please ensure your child has a full change of clothes in their backpack in case they slip in some water or mud.

This is a short week with Teachers convention on Thursday and Friday and then family day on Monday so the kids have 5 days with no school. Hope you are all able to get outside and enjoy the time together.

Cheers,

Tracey Burch

 January 19th - 23rd

We started learning about long a vowel sounds with the "magic e" on the end of the word that makes the vowel say it's own name. For example, "gate, mane, case, plate, tape" We will continue to learn about long vowel words with magic e on the end for i, o and u.

We completed our art cards this week. Your child's art work will be available to purchase soon.

In math, we have been learning about "friendly tens" (all the addition equations that make 10) and have been reviewing teen numbers.

Next week we will be learning more about hibernation, migration and adaptation.

Please remember that there is NO school next Friday, January 30th.

Have a great weekend!

 Week of January 12th - 16th, 2026

Please remember to have your child bring in a small toy for our science lesson on Monday. There was a note that went home on Friday.

We added a new centre this week and stamping was a hit! on Friday we had almost the whole class at the back table stamping images.

We are watching our Eagles nest closely and are awaiting Jackie to lay eggs soon. We are watching the 'Big Bear Bald Eagle nest cam" on YouTube. I have been watching Jackie and Shadow for about 4 years now and learn something new everyday!

We had a presentation from SPARK dental about how to keep our teeth healthy last week. They had the kids practice life size flossing!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
