April 22nd to 26th
We had a short week last week and this week zoomed by...
We have welcomed a new student to our classroom and everyone is helping her settle in very nicely. We have wrapped up our 5 senses unit and are moving onto plants and energy.
I pick up our duck eggs this Sunday and we will be watching them under the incubator for the month of May. We should have some ducklings hatch at the end of May...We will be sending home lots of pictures!
We have our field trip to the zoo coming up on May 23rd. Please watch your email for volunteer information. I will need 5 parents to volunteer that day and we may need a couple extra for Mrs. Larmer's classroom :)
In math, we have been working on 3D shapes and are moving into balanced and unbalanced equations as well as adding three digits together. Please practice with your child at home. For example 5+3+7 = Have fun making up your own equations!
We are learning our "Bossy R" phonics rule right now. Please have your child show you an example of an "ar, or, er, ir and ur" controlled vowel. We will be moving into story writing in the next couple weeks and will be learning about settings, characters and problems. Please be on the look-out for some funny stories coming home.
May long weekend is coming up on May 17-21.
Have a wonderful weekend!
