 November 29th

Can you believe it's December next week already?! We are gearing up and practicing for our Christmas concert on December 12th. Concert starts at 5:30. Please drop your child off at their classroom at 5:15pm and then make your way to the gym to find a seat:)

Ms. O'Brien is here until December 12th. She has been a wonderful addition to our classroom and we will all miss her very much.

It was lovely to see you all at conferences! Please feel free to email me anytime if you have any questions or concerns.

We will be working on addition word problems in math as well as learning "part-part-whole" concepts.

We will continue to work on our writing. We have been learning l-blends (words that start with sl, pl, bl, cl, gl and fl) and r-blends (words that start with fr, gr, cr, tr, br, dr). Please practice these at home.

We will be busy having fun in December and learning along the way :)

Have a great weekend!

 November 22nd, 2024

Hello and happy snowy Friday!

It was nice to have a full week back with all the kids! and the snow made it so much more exciting :)

Please put an extra change of dry clothes (especially socks) in your childs backpack. With all this snow, they have been coming in wet and nothing is worse than wet socks!

Please sign up for Parent-Teacher conferences being held on November 28th and 29th. Just a reminder that there is NO school next Friday due to conferences.

I'm excited to share all of their hard work with you next week - we have been working on our writing, our question words and our phonics.

In math, we have completed our number representation to 20 and are moving on to "friendly tens" where we learn all the different ways we can make 10.

We have been working on our creative skills at centres and a couple of children made this amazing sculpture today :)

Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you all next week!

 November 1st, 2024

We made it! We survived Halloween and the day after (haha). It was a very busy week and I loved seeing all the costumes.

In math we are going to be starting patterning.

In Language Arts, we are continuing to build our reading and writing skills and any practice at home is much appreciated!

In science, we started our unit on Investigation today and will be having a "magic bag" next week where the kids have to be detectives to find out what is inside...

We have our Remembrance Day assembly on Thursday, November 7th starting at 10:45.

Just a reminder that our Fall Break is from November 11th-13th with the Friday November 8th being a PD day.

Have a wonderful weekend :)
