 Please note:

Next week, all PE classes will be held outside as our gymnasium is getting a fresh coat of paint. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather, including proper footwear for outdoor activity. We'll continue with fun, active lessons—rain or shine! Thank you for your support and flexibility.

 Week of April 7th - 11th

We went for a community walk yesterday to the Pirate Park with Mrs. Larmer's class and saw many signs of Spring! We saw a robin, a brown snow-shoe hare, buds on branches and people starting to get ready for gardening.

We worked on "ar" and "or" controlled vowels and the kids are getting really good at identifying these letter combinations in books they read.

In Math, we began symmetry and have been practicing our drawing skills.

We are continuing to work on mapping in SS and Spring in Science.

Have a wonderful weekend!

 April 4th 2025

Hello and welcome back after Spring Break! I hope you all had a restful week. We are back into it and learning so much!

Our eaglets are teenagers and we are loving watching them grow!

We are learning about mapping and map skills in SS.

In science, we will begin to learn about signs of Spring and be filling in our Spring booklet.

We have started learning about 'ar controlled vowels' and will continue with or, er, ur, and ir.

We are working hard and will be moving into word problems in math.

We are also getting ready to learn about plants and animals and plant our class garden soon....

There will be a grade 1 celebration of learning at the end of May just before our field trip to the zoo on May 26th.

Hope you get outside this weekend and have fun in the sun!

Cheers,

Tracey Burch
