May 26th - 30th 

We had a FANTASTIC day at the zoo on Monday and I know the kids all came back exhausted but exhilarated! 

We have our 2nd field trip coming up on Tuesday June 10th to HERITAGE PARK where we will be learning about the past. Forms went home today :) 

It's going to be June when we return next week....We will be busy with our field trip, animal research and our Sports Day on June 24th. 

Just a reminder that the kids will be sporadically going outside for gym so please ensure your child has proper clothing and footwear to complete gym in. And please feel free to send hats and sunglasses. 

We are planning on having a fun ending to the school year. We will be completing animal research and making diorama's so please send your child to school with a shoe box anytime next week. I will send out a messenger reminder as well.

 Week of May 19-23, 2025 

It's our field trip to the ZOO on MONDAY! Please ensure that your child has their own backpack with their water bottle, lunch and snacks, hat and sunscreen. Please make sure your child is wearing running shoes. 

We will be departing the school at 8:40 and will return around 2pm. 

Our CELEBRATION OF LEARNING assembly is TUESDAY at 10:00 AM. We look forward to seeing you all there :)

 Week of May 12-16th 

We are in the home stretch! 

We are heading to the Zoo for our field trip on Monday May 26th. Thank you in advance for all of our parents who have volunteered to attend. 

We will have our second field trip to Heritage park on June 10th - keep an eye out for emails about volunteers for that trip :) 

Our Celebration of Learning Assembly for grade 1 will be on Tuesday, May 27th at 10:15am. 

Our class garden is growing so fast and it's been exiting to see what has popped up overnight!

Hello! We had a busy week with a lockdown practice and a fire drill! 

We were also hard at work creating Mother's day gifts and cards :) Happy Mothers Day to you all! 

Just a reminder that there is no school next Friday on May 16th and it's the long weekend so no school on Monday, May 19th. 

We had the pleasure of having one of the parents from Mrs. Larmer's class come in and do a presentation about their job - He is a high rise window washer and showed us some awesome pictures! 

We got to play outside a lot this week - even though it was a bit chilly some days.

 Happy May!! 

It's been beautiful this week - We had a chat in class about wearing hats, putting on sunscreen before school and making sure we have water bottles. 

We have planted our class garden and have 10 different types of vegetables to watch grow. We will be doing some seed investigations and learning many things about plants. 

We have been working hard learning about compound words the past 2 weeks and will be moving on to "tricky Y" and  story writing. 

In S.S. we are finishing up our mapping unit and will move into learning about the past and making timelines. **We will be doing a project soon where we ask you for a baby picture of your child...you can email it to me or send  a hard copy (that will be returned) with your child. We will make a photo board and see if the kids can identify each other from their baby pictures**

We have some exciting events coming up! 

May 26th - Our class will go to the Zoo for the day! 

May 27th - Is our "Celebration of Learning" assembly here at the school - Time  TBD

June 10th - Field trip to Heritage Park for the day.

We went for a community walk to Inukshuk park this week and saw many new signs of Spring. We are anxiously awaiting the tulips to bloom!

May long weekend is coming up - there will be NO school on May 16th and May 19th.
